Troy Symmons, a native of N.J. and a gunner for Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, based out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., observes an ITX village as his convoy resupplies the “local-national” population at Twentynine Palms, Calif., May 27, 2013. The battalion sent four convoys to resupply the village over a two-day period in an exercise meant to train and evaluate Marines on “local-national” interactions and deciphering the difference between foreign friendly and hostile forces.
