Two of the B-17 Flying Fortresses that were damaged by an explosion at RAF Alconbury May 27, 1943, sit on the flightline. Nineteen U.S. Army Air Force 95th Bombardment Group airmen were killed and 21 others were injured when a 500-pound bomb detonated on the flightline.
