Ship's Serviceman 2nd Class Michael Fallings, of Atlanta, strikes a bell in remembrance during a ceremony to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Battle of Midway. The ceremony, held on board the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) while underway in the Baltic Sea, commemorates the World War II battle against Imperial Japanese forces for control of Midway Island in the Pacific. The pivotal battle is seen as the turning point in the war, giving the United States the advantage in the Pacific campaign. Sailors throughout the U.S. Navy take time out to commemorate this historic battle. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Collin Turner/Released)
