A member of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force puts camouflage on right before his unit started their patrolling exercise here June 12. The purpose of the patrolling exercise was for the JGSDF to train on maneuvering through a land, avoiding the enemy and securing an objective. The training is part of exercise Dawn Blitz, which is a scenario-driven exercise designed to test Navy and Marine Corps forces at the Marine Expeditionary Brigade and Expeditionary Strike Group level, while promoting military-to-military cooperation and interoperability with partnered nations.
