Staff Sgt. Miguel Diaz, Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 13 mechanic from Tucson, Ariz., is promoted to his current rank by Maj. Gen. Raymond Fox, Marine Forces Africa commanding general, during an awards and promotion ceremony at U.S. Embassy Tripoli, Libya, April 7, 2013. The Marines with Special-Purpose MAGTF Africa 13 are the first reserve Marines to serve in Tripoli in an official capacity, providing additional security to the U.S. Embassy. Special-Purpose MAGTF Africa strengthens U.S. Marine Corps Forces Africa and U.S. Africa Command’s ability to assist partner nations in addressing their security challenges.
