A coalition security force member scans for enemies during an operation in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, April 27, 2013. The security force arrested five extremists during the operation in search of a Taliban leader in Bati Kot District. The leader had operational control over a group of fighters responsible for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He also facilitated the acquisition and distribution of weapons to extremists through Nangarhar province. The security force also seized improvised explosive device making materials.
