Retired Cmdr. Jim Johnson, who received his Naval Aerospace Experimental Psychology wings in 1959, passes the American flag to Capt. Dylan Schmorrow, Medical Service Corps, who received his AEP wings in 1994, during the flag ceremony on the occasion of Schmorrow's retirement ceremony held at the Office of Naval Research. To date only 149 AEP wings have been awarded; Johnson was number nine and Schmorrow was number 104. AEPs apply state-of-the-science psychology and human factors principles in the design and testing of systems and technology on the cutting edge to ensure that the Navy and Marine Corps have the best equipped aviators in the world.
