Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Penny Couvillion, assigned to the Naval Operational Support Center Indianapolis, talks with retired Chief Mess Management Specialist Patricia Harkey about her days in the Navy, June 13, at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Indianapolis. Harkey was the Navy's first female jet engine mechanic and then cross-rated to Hospital Corpsman and Mess Management Specialist before retiring from the Navy in 1991.
