Indian Navy Capt. Raman Arora admires a coin given to him by U.S. Merchant Marine Capt. William Baldwin, ship's master of the USNS Matthew Perry (T-AKE-9), during a tour of the ship June 19. The Matthew Perry is in Brunei Darussalam to support the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise. The multilateral exercise provides a platform for regional partner nations to address shared security challenges, strengthen defense cooperation, enhance interoperability and promote stability in the region. Participating nations also honed their communication skills and learned from each other's unique experiences and expertise, better preparing partner nations for a unified approach to future contingencies.
