    Aviation Structural Mechanic (Equipment) 2nd Class Charles Beckerman, of Goldsboro, N.C., performs a maintenance check on the fire bottle of a Strike Fighter Squadron 102 F/A-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. A fire bottle is used to extinguish fires in an aircraft engine. Kitty Hawk is conducting training exercises in the U.S. 7th fleet area of responsibility.
