Male recruits consume approximately 3,950 calories and females consume 2,700 calories each day. Heatherly is from Athens, Tenn., and is scheduled to graduate Aug. 2, 2013. Approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
