Service members of the 207th Regional Support Group, 143rd Expeditionary Support Command, participated in a farewell unit deployment ceremony at Fort Jackson, S.C., June 1. Approximately 50 soldiers assigned to the 207th RSG are deploying to southern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. At the ceremony family members got to witness the casing of the unit colors and get reassurance that their soldiers are deploying with great leadership. The 207th RSG will serve as the garrison commander for all U.S. forces in Kandahar Airfield, which includes about 34,000 service members, civilians, contractors and third country nationals.
