Navy Capt. Terry Leary, assigned to the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy, pulls a tooth from a Filipino patient with the assistance of Canadian Sgt. Lisa Shepherd on the first day of Pacific Partnership 2008. The dental team is providing free dental exams and tooth extractions to people in need. Medical professionals from the Philippines, Canada, Japan, and Australia are working side by side in support of the Pacific Partnership 2008 mission which provides such service as medical, dental, veterinary and construction assistance programs ashore and afloat.
