Vice Adm. Charles J. “Joe” Leidig Jr. and his wife, Meg, were farewelled in a retirement ceremony held in his honor and hosted by Gen. David M. Rodriguez, Commander, U.S. Africa Command, June 28, 2013, in Stuttgart, Germany. Vice Adm. Leidig retired after 39 years of active duty service. Vice Adm. Leidig said, “After retiring from active duty, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to teach the next generation of Navy leaders when I assume a teaching position at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.” (U.S. Army photo by Martin Greeson/released)
