Colorado Army National Guard Sgt. Nathan Faith, with the 117th Space Battalion, checks a satellite dish during the West Fork Complex fire from their location in Pagosa Springs, Colo., June 27, 2013. This is the first time a 117th has been called to support a domestic operation. These soldiers do GPS, imagery and mapping, and with the unique fire in the way it's burring, the 117th is the only unit with the tools produce the imagery required to best fight the West Fork Complex fire. The fire is in the Rio Grande National Forest, Colo., and Colorado National Guard's soldiers and airmen have been assisting local authorities with everything from task force security, GPS, imagery and mapping and prepping areas for structure protection.
