An Afghan and coalition security force member scans for enemy activity during an operation in search of a Taliban leader in Gardez district, Paktiya province, Afghanistan, May 2, 2013. The leader had command and control of a group of extremists responsible for ambushes and improvised explosive device attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He was engaged in a campaign of robberies against Afghan shops and was vital to weapons facilitation operations in Paktiya.
