A UH-6-0 Black Hawk helicopter from the 2/135th General Support Aviation Battalion, Colorado Army National Guard, drops 500 gallons of river water onto a wildfire burning the training range at Fort Carson, Colo., June 13, 2008. Personnel and helicopters from the Colorado Army National Guard have been supporting the Department of Defense and the National Forest Service in battling approximately 42,000 acres of wildfires burning 40 miles southeast of Fort Carson army base in the Piñon Canyon training site. June 13 marks the fourth day of firefighting for Colorado Army National Guard air crews. It is suspected that lightning started the fire June 9.
