Elena Efimenko and Marcy Hampton react to a massive poster of Communist Party revolutionary Vladimir Ilyich Lenin at the Research Library of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies July 12. Lenin and other artifacts from the Soviet era are featured in an exhibit at the Marshall Center's library about the U.S. Army Russian Institute, which closed in 1993 and made way for the Marshall Center. The Marshall Center library is home to one of the largest collection of Soviet and Russian-language periodicals in the world, with more than 40,000 newspapers, magazines and more on hand for participants and others to study. It is also home to the U.S. government's Federal Librarian of the Year, Joyce Greene. The exhibit is open to anyone with access to the installation. Hampton, from Larchmont, N.Y., is the library director and Efimenko, from Moscow, is one of the librarians. (DOD Photo by Karlheinz Wedhorn/RELEASED)
