The purpose of this drill was to utilize Navy and Marine Corps personnel to maintain a defensive posture against possible threats from small boats. Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMTUEX) is scenario driven exercise aimed at integrating the 13th MEU and the ships of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group through simulated real-world operational events.
