Lieutenant Col. George Benson, executive officer of 2nd Marine Regiment, stands at the position of attention while his next award is read during his retirement ceremony July 12, 2013, at the base theatre. Benson said that because of the Marines around him and the experiences he had in the Corps, he has learned that your responsibilities are more important than your title and if you want to see the best in humanity, you have to see the worst in humanity.
