Guest speaker Kenneth V. "Ken" Killmeyer, a survivor of the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA 59), recounts the deck fire that took place aboard the ship during a Forrestal memorial ceremony held at the Navy's Farrier Firefighting Facility at Surface Warfare Officers School Command Engineering Learning Site in Norfolk. The ceremony is held each year in memory of the 134 heroic shipmates who lost their lives on July 29, 1967, in the Gulf of Tonkin while conducting combat operations against North Vietnam.
