Navy Rear Adm. David M. Thomas Jr. delivers a welcome message at the start of the cultural presentation during the 110th Philippine Independence Day celebration, held at the downtown Lyceum, June 14. Thomas is the commander of Joint Task Force Guantanamo, a tenant command of U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
