Staff Sgt. Carl Judeson provides security as role player Sgt. Marcus Valles attempts to grab supplies July 31 during the Vibrant Response 13-2 exercise at Muscatatuck Urban Training Complex near Butlerville, Ind. The Soldiers are participating in VR 13-2, a major incident exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), which is based out of Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Approximately 5,700 service members and civilians from federal and state agencies throughout the country are training to respond to a catastrophic incident. Judeson, from Indianapolis, serves as a squad leader with the 151st Infantry Regiment, Indiana National Guard. Valles serves as an intelligence analyst with Army North.
