A field carrier imitation dock at Site 3-9, also known as AUX-II serves as the ideal staging ground for Marine Attack Squadron 214 pilots pre-deployment ship-based vertical landing certification. The platform is made to look like the deck of an amphibious assault ship to help better prepare pilots for the reality an aircraft carrier.
