Sailors man the rails during the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk's final departure from Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Kitty Hawk is returning to the United States for decommissioning after 47 years of service, 10 of which have been in Japan. Kitty Hawk, the Navy's oldest active warship and only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, will soon be relieved by the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington.
