Iraqi men form a line at the Joint Coordination Center near Balad, to initiate the reconciliation process. Soldiers from the 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment saw more than 500 men come forward to pledge loyalty to the Iraqi government. Since Reconciliation efforts in Balad began, attacks against Iraqi security forces and coalition forces have been down and the ammount of weapons caches found in the area have been up.
