Cpl. Michael Cruz and Sgt. Jorge Hernandez-Rivas (from right) look at cards made for them by children at the Nike child care center in Portland, Oregon. The children who attend child care on the Nike campus stopped by the cheer on the Marines during their training. Marines and Marine veterans participating in the track and field camp will learn new skills in order to develop their form and technique for improved thowing, running, and racing. The Warrior Athlete Reconditioning Program (WAR-P) provides activities and opportunities for wounded, ill or injured Marines to train as athletes, while increasing their strength so they can continue with military service or develop healthy habits for life outside the service.
