PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – The 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group, Pennsylvania Army National Guard held a Change Of Responsibility ceremony Dec. 7. During the ceremony, Command Sgt. Major Scott M. Hentz relieved Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony F. Mainiero as the senior enlisted member of the 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
Hentz assumed responsibilities Sept. 1. Since taking the position Hentz has worked to gain an understanding of the battalion’s federal and state missions and has provided support to battalion’s organizational inspection program.
“Non-commissioned officers who consider themselves to be successful should never forget that they are the result of successful Soldiers with whom they have served. I look forward to serving with all of you and I am proud to be your command sergeant major,” said Hentz.
Hentz was born and raised in Myerstown, and graduated from Cedar Crest High School in Lebanon. He has numerous military awards and decorations, and is a veteran of three deployments, Desert Storm in 1991, Operation Enduring Freedom to Afghanistan in 2007-2008, and most recently to Kuwait from 2012-2013.
In his off-duty time, Hentz serves his community as an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 20, Myerstown, and the vice president of the Myerstown Recreation Board. He is currently employed as a Department of Air Force civilian as a senior auditor for the United States Property and Fiscal Office for Pennsylvania.
The 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion manages logistics for a large area of operations.
