In a small ceremony in Ukraine, Oklahoma Guardsman Scott Holt, of Mannford, Oklahoma was promoted from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to the rank of Colonel.
His family attended the ceremony via video-conference.
Holt, a history teacher and coach at Mannford Middle School, enlisted in the military in 1985 and earned his commission as a Field Artillery officer through Reserve Officer Training Corps at Northeastern Oklahoma State University in 1990.
He has served the Oklahoma Army National Guard in a variety of positions including serving as the commander of the 1st Battalion, 160th Field Artillery Regiment headquartered in Chandler, Oklahoma from 2012-2016.
Holt is currently deployed to Ukraine in support of Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine. There, he serves as the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team’s Chief of Staff. He has deployed four times previously in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
