TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. — Brig. Gen. Robert Edmonson (center), chief of signal and commandant of U.S. Army Signal School, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon, Georgia, visits the High Tech Regional Training Site–Maintenance (HTRTS–M) here to discuss programs of instructions, instructors and equipment, and tour the facility.
Edmonson is the first signal commandant to visit Tobyhanna, according to Maj. Bobby Webb, commandant.
“He was very impressed with the operation and the uniqueness of the facility for indoor training opportunities,” Webb said.
The HTRTS-M trains signal Soldiers in the same Military Occupational Specialty as Fort Gordon, but on a smaller scale. During his visit, Edmonson mentioned the relationship building opportunities for quick equipment repair assets by residing at the depot.
“The general also talked about the importance of the Army presence in the region and encouraged us to continue to market the Army,” Webb said.
Fort Gordon is home to the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and host to a multi-service community of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and multi-national forces and has become a center for joint forces activities, training and operations.
Tobyhanna Army Depot is a recognized leader in providing world-class logistics support for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems across the Department of Defense.
