Dozens of Soldiers and personnel were on hand to celebrate during the installation observance of the Army Reserve’s 110th birthday April 23, 2018, at the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort McCoy, Wis.
The Army Reserve was founded on April 23, 1908, when Congress authorized the Army to establish a Medical Reserve Corps, the official predecessor of the Army Reserve.
Today, approximately 200,000 Army Reserve Soldiers serve around the globe.
Sgt. Maj. Michael D. Sprague with the 88th Readiness Division served as the guest speaker for the event.
