FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. - Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jacob Russell, an instructor and platoon leader at the Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Site (EAATS) was promoted Oct. 24 at Fort Indiantown Gap. With his promotion to CW5, Russell became the youngest Pennsylvania National Guard member ever to achieve that rank at the age of 41 years, 11 months.
Russell was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Angie, children Jace and Maryn, parents Dean and Joanna Russell, in-laws Brian and Maria Bartsch, neighbor John Foltz and sons, in addition to numerous colleagues and friends from the Pa. Guard.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Charles Doyno, the previous youngest CW5 in Pa. Guard history, spoke to attendees about Russells numerous accomplishments in his 24-year military career. Russell is now one of only 15 CW5s in the state out of approximately 400 total warrant officers.
