FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – On August 5, 2019 the 55th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB) responded to a support request to provide water buffaloes for the residents of Carlisle Barracks.
Support was requested from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in response to water issues at the Carlisle Barracks.
This tasking was assigned to the Soldiers of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 55th MEB, that were conducting Annual Training at Fort Indiantown Gap and had the resources and personnel ready to fill this mission request. Water buffalos and vehicles were delivered the following morning after they were sanitized overnight.
This mission was a joint effort consisting of the 201st RED HORSE Squadron and 193rd Regional Support Group, PA Air National Guard, who provided and sanitized the water buffalos, and the Soldiers of the 337th Engineer Company and 55 MEB HHC, that transported the equipment to Carlisle Barracks.
The coordination of the two elements is a testament to the response, training, and cooperation of the Soldiers and Airmen of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
