Looking Back: Building 385

Photo By Scott Rhodes | This #FortRileyFriday we continue our look at buildings that originally served to support activities on the old Artillery Post. Building 385 Carr Avenue was built in 1903. It was originally designated as a Gun Shed. It was made with #limestone walls and foundation, with a brick floor and a slate roof. Directorate of Public Works (DPW) maintenance documents show that by 1930 building 385 was still designated as a Gun Shed. Today, 385 Carr Ave. is home to the 2nd Detachment, 346th Military Police Company, part of the U.S. Army Reserve. Pictured: 385 Carr Ave. in 1930 (top) and as it appears today (bottom.)

Directorate of Public Works maintenance documents show that by 1930 building 385 was still designated as a gun shed.
Today, 385 Carr Ave. is home to the 2218th, 2219th and 2220th Mobilization and Support Battalions of the U.S. Army Reserve.
