WRNMMC, Bethesda, MD – Residents who graduated from the National Capital Consortium (NCC) Pediatrics Residency Program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) received a 100 percent passing rate for their certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) for a third year in a row.

“I’m very proud and humbled by our residents’ achievements,” said U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jennifer Hepps, WRNMMC’s NCC pediatrics residency program director. “I’m especially proud of the quality of everyone we recruit to military pediatrics because they are the best and the brightest, and everything they do shows their passion.”

The ABP holds an annual certification exam for those seeking to become board-certified pediatrician.

WRNMMC has approximately 30 residents a year who graduate from their NCC pediatrics residency program and they have all passed and earned their ABP certification three years in a row. WRNMMC, along with Madigan Army Medical Center, in Washington state, are two facilities in the United States with pediatric residency programs to have that consistent and perfect passing rate.

WRNMMC, the world’s premier, integrated military medical center, and where the nation heals our heroes, strives to provide extraordinary experiences for patients, families, and staff while driving tomorrow’s healthcare advances through education, innovation and research.
