The 8th Civil Engineer Squadron and Republic of Korea contractors have begun repairing the runway at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, April 4, 2023. The base has closed its runway to all military and commercial flight operations from early April through late August 2023. The goals are to repair nearly 1500 concrete slabs, revitalize the runway and to continue serving as a hub for projecting combat airpower in the Indo-Pacific Region.
