Texas Air National Guard 2024 Chief Master Sergeant All-Call held at Camp Mabry

CAMP MABRY, Texas – Brig. Gen. Andrew Camacho, Deputy Adjutant General - Air for the State of Texas, inaugurated the 2024 Chief Master Sergeant All-Call here on January 18th. The event allowed Chief Master Sergeants from all three Texas Air National Guard Wings to engage in insightful discussions about the changing landscape of the United States Air Force and the role played by the Texas Air National Guard.

The event shed light on shifting strategic imperatives within the Air Force. General Camacho's address centered on the evolving priorities of the Air Force and the critical role that the Texas Air National Guard must embrace to meet these new challenges.

“It’s important to remain relevant to address the current and future challenges and be mission-ready,” Camacho said.

General Camacho emphasized the importance of senior enlisted leaders in molding future Air Force leaders, reiterating the idea that mentors are essential in steering the force during times of change.

“We must be able to effectively communicate the Air Force's high-level objectives to our enlisted personnel,” Camacho said.

The event, led by Chief Master Sergeant Matthew Crawford, the Texas Air National Guard Senior Enlisted Leader, served as a platform for professional development. Crawford emphasized the need for Airmen to maintain a champion mindset, encouraging them to visualize victory and overcome current and future challenges.

“It's about understanding what's happening at the state level so our chiefs know what their counterparts are doing at Camp Mabry,” Crawford said. “We're bringing in subject matter experts and focusing on key areas like talent management and enlisted efforts. Today's session involves chiefs going into specific breakout groups to solidify relationships within their skill sets and prepare for our MRP packages and domestic operations capabilities.”

Throughout the event, the discussion revolved around the capabilities and contributions of the Texas Air National Guard. The Chief Master Sergeants from the three Texas Air National Guard bases shared their experiences and expertise, fostering connections and collaboration among attendees.

"The big goal of this event is to establish or reestablish old relationships that will solidify our efforts. This is crucial when we have to come together for domestic operations like hurricane support, fire duty, or other capacities. Having Chiefs come to Camp Mabry to work with their Directorates and spend time with Army staff members will significantly benefit us in the long run,” said Crawford.
