This Raider project series aims to provide awareness, build unity, and highlight the unique skills of our Soldiers across the Brigade. It is imperative to tell the stories of the Soldiers that make our Brigade, Division, and US Army better. Through their stories, we spread knowledge, enhance perspective, and create a shared level of understanding for the roles each Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) plays in the readiness of the Raider Brigade.
FORT CARSON, Colo--On 18 January 2024, 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment Battalion Commander Maj. Allen Fujinaka and Command Sgt. Maj. Juan Lozano of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team experienced the uncommon lifestyle of an Army Culinary Specialist (92G). Battalion Commander Maj. Allen Fujinaka and Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Juan Lozano found themselves at a 0500-uniform inspection with a white apron and a chef’s hat ready to serve the Soldiers their first morning meal. Maj. Allen Fujinaka learned the intricacies of meat preparation and Command Sgt. Maj. Juan Lozano learned how to make over 400 biscuits from scratch.
“The experience of what our Army Culinary Specialist do is unmatched and uncommon to what many of our Soldiers experience across formations. We truly appreciate all that our Army Culinary Specialists do. I think this is a great way to build unity across our formations,” says Command Sgt. Maj. Juan Lozano.
Army Culinary Specialists do not live the common lifestyle of an Army Soldier, yet, they remain proficient in their Army tasks. Welcome to the life of a 92G, Raider Brigade!
