COS KALSU, Iraq – The Contingency Operating Site Kalsu ministerial staff held a three-day men's conference in the building that served as the site's chapel before the recent construction of their new worship center, April 8-10.
The conference focused on gathering male Soldiers to talk about issues that affect them, and to assist one another in coming up with faith-based answers to solve them.
"This conference was for the men of Kalsu to come together in a relaxed setting to explore the issues they have with God and their faith," said Staff Sgt. Michael Murray, Company A, 203rd Brigade Support Battalion.
"Race, rank, denomination and agendas are all thrown out of the window and we have really had a chance to share our faith with one another and share how God has blessed us," he said.
Each night featured singing, testimonials, preaching and open-floor discussions where those in attendance shared their issues with the other men in attendance.
"I believe God has his hands on COS Kalsu, this mission and this brigade," said Murray. "He will not let us go and he is a friend above all friends. These nights are about sharing that truth and helping one another grow as men and spiritual leaders."
