HULMAN FIELD AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ind. – 181st Intelligence Wing leadership welcomes the community leaders part of the new U.S. Air Force Honorary Commanders program and gives insight into the wing’s critical mission and operations at Hulman Field Air National Guard Base in Terre Haute, Indiana, Dec. 17, 2024.
The Honorary Commanders Program aims to educate key community leaders about the 181st’s mission and foster a supportive relationship with the local community.
Col. Mark Wright, deputy commander of the 181st Intelligence Wing, explained that the program bridges the gap between the military and the community, fostering understanding and building lasting relationships. The community leaders toured the wing’s facilities, participated in interactive mission briefings, and engaged directly with Airmen to learn about the wing’s commitment to national defense and global intelligence operations.
“The Honorary Commanders program is an incredible opportunity for the 181st Intelligence
Wing to connect with our community leaders in a meaningful way,” said Wright. “By building these partnerships, we not only enhance awareness of our mission but also create a network of support that strengthens our ability to serve our state and nation.”
