Proclamation: 2025 Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
Whereas, On this day, the 1st of April, 2025, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, proudly recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Foundational in our National psyche is that we should always treat others as we desire to be treated. As individuals, each of us are fathers, mothers, brothers or sisters and as such, we remain fully committed to upholding these values. Sexual assault is unacceptable. We know that our collective efforts can and have
made a positive difference. Together, we have built a positive, delivery focused culture grounded in trust, accountability, and support , where survivors are believed, and perpetrators are held accountable. This month serves as a reminder to continue the critical work of fostering an environment where sexual violence is not tolerated, and where every individual is treated with dignity.
Whereas, we acknowledge the importance of standing united in the ongoing fight against sexual violence, and that each of us plays a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment. Our actions, both big and small, have a ripple effect on those we lead, teach, and influence. From modeling healthy behavior to addressing inappropriate conduct, we all have a responsibility to maintain and strengthen the climate of trust that we have worked so hard to build.
Whereas, as a team, we consistently demonstrate our commitment to supporting victims and survivors, ensuring they receive the care, justice, and trust they deserve. We continue to work diligently to ensure that sexual violence is met with swift action, and that all individuals have the resources they need to heal and thrive. We are dedicated to holding perpetrators accountable and ensuring that all actions align with our core values.
Whereas, preventing sexual assault requires that everyone plays a role in ensuring our environment remains free from harm. Through education, awareness, and community involvement, we are strengthening our efforts to raise awareness and challenge harmful attitudes and actions. Prevention is directly attributable to the collective dedication of every individual in this organization.
Whereas, this month we reaffirm our continued commitment to preventing sexual assault through proactive action, education, and unwavering vigilance. We will continue to work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of personal and organizational conduct. We stand resolute in our commitment to safeguarding mission readiness by immediately addressing and preventing any breaches of our culture and
instances of sexual violence.
