Fort Leonard Wood celebrated the Army’s 236th birthday, with a division style run, at 5:30 a.m., June 14, 2011. Maj. Gen. David Quantock, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence commanding general, led the run.
“One of the great things about the Army is that you wake up every morning and you go out and you do PT, and today we celebrate a little of that—236 years of a great Army tradition, and being the nation’s force of choice,” Quantock said.
Sgt. Maj. Richard Prater, who organized the run remarked, "This (the run) is fantastic! If this doesn't get you, nothing will."
The 399th Army Band provided motivational music for the runners who participated.
