EDINBURGH, Ind. - Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center hosted two annual events over the weekend.
The first was the 21st Annual Veterans’ Memorial Commemorative Service held Aug. 11 at the Camp Atterbury Veterans Memorial. This event included a prelude by the Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums, a 21-gun rifle salute by the Camp Atterbury Color Guard team, the playing of taps, and a wreath ceremony to honor units and veterans that have deployed through Camp Atterbury since World War II.
On Aug 12, the post supported the Indiana Italian Heritage Society during the 23rd Annual POW Chapel Reunion held at the Chapel in the Meadow here on post. This annual event honors the more than 12,000 Italian and German prisoners of war that were held at Camp Atterbury during World War II.
