FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. – Fort Leonard Wood officials plan to host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., Nov. 15, for 40 houses that were built to replace those that were destroyed when an EF-3 tornado struck the installation, Dec. 31, 2010.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 153 Frizell Street.

The entire project, called the Woodlands New Homes Expansion Project, is expected to be completed by May 2013. At the end of the project, a total of 160 duplex houses are scheduled to be constructed. Each house will have a tornado safe room.

A self-guided tour of the home will immediately follow the ceremony.
