Sarah Marshall is the Media Affairs Officer at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She is responsible for responding to media queries and overseeing interviews. She writes press releases and pitches story ideas, while also writing for the University’s blog. From 2008-2016, she was a Public Affairs Specialist at Walter Reed, coordinating media interviews and writing for the Base newspaper. She also served as Editor of the paper and led the design and production of the annual Base Guide. Before coming to the DoD, she was a Reporter at the Frederick News-Post. In addition to chasing ambulances, she produced a “cops” blog. She has received many editorial awards from the MDDC Press Association. She holds a B.A. in English/Communication Arts from Hood College with a concentration in journalism and a Minor in Sociology. Additionally, she received Public Affairs training at DINFOS.and completed courses in photography at the Washington School of Photography.
