    Staff Sergeant Dana C. Beesley, a native of Lewiston, Idaho enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in February 2015, and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Following recruit training, she attended the Defense Information School and was assigned the Military Occupational Specialty 4531 (Public Affairs Specialist). After graduation from the Defense Information School in May 2016, she reported to the Digital Engagement Team at Headquarters Marine Corps, The Pentagon. During this time, she served as a social media manager and photographer, attaching to various units throughout the Marine Corps as an augment for HQMC. She travelled to support 1st Marine Division Band at the 99th Anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood in Belleau, France, and covered the dignified transfers and memorials of Medal of Honor recipients held at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as documenting the F35B Lightning Carrier Proof of Concept aboard the USS America. In April 2017, Beesley was selected to attend the Advanced Visual Information Program at the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Upon graduation, Sgt. Beesley received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, where she served as combat photographer/videographer and platoon sergeant. Here she took part in the DOD Visual Storytelling Workshop in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as the Eddie Adams Photojournalism Workshop. In September of 2021, Sgt. Beesley received orders to I Marine Expeditionary Force, where she currently serves as Communication Strategy and Operations Chief for I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
