Staff Sgt. Jesus Anchondo, Military Police, executes a pistol shooting drill on Khe Sanh range during a Special Reaction Team qualification July 11, 2018. The Special Reaction Team is comprised of military police personnel trained to give an installation commander the ability to counter a threat situation surpassing normal law enforcement capabilities. SRT must be capable of isolating a crisis scene, providing proficient marksmanship support, conducting tactical movement and building entry, and clearing building in a variety of light and weather conditions. Marines with the MOS 1511, Military Police, may test into SRT (MOS 5816) through a series of qualifications, including skills with the rifle and pistol.
