USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77)
Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class David Mora Jr. is a
native of San Bernardino, California. He enlisted in the Navy
July 2015 and graduated from Recruit Training Command
in Great Lakes, Illinois, in September 2015. Directly after
graduation, he reported to Mass Communication Specialist
training at Defense Information School at Fort Meade,
Maryland.
In April 2016, Petty Officer Mora completed the Basic Mass
Communication Specialist Course. Upon completion of
training, he received orders to USS George H.W. Bush (CVN
77).
During his time onboard CVN 77, he was assigned as the Media
Department’s video work center supervisor and was responsible for the planning and management of
all video products leading 5 Sailors. He was selected for advancement to petty officer second class in
November 2017.
His awards include: National Defense Service Medial, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Rifle Marksmanship Medal, and Pistol Marksmanship Medal.
He won the Bobby McRill Excellence Award for outstanding conduct during his graduating “A” School
class. He won 1st place for the Informational Video category for the 2016 Russell Egnor Navy Media
Awards.
