    Brad Rhen has served as deputy state public affairs officer for the Pennsylvania National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap since January 2020. His responsibilities include serving as the primary social media manager for the Pennsylvania National Guard, writing and editing news stories and press releases, taking photographs and assisting the state public affairs officer as needed. Prior to that, Rhen was a newspaper reporter and columnist for the Reading Eagle in Reading, Pennsylvania, from March 2015 to January 2020. Rhen was also a newspaper reporter for the Lebanon Daily News in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, from October 2005 to March 2015. Rhen served as an enlisted public affairs specialist in the U.S. Army from July 1998 to September 2005. His assignments included Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Camp Smith, Hawaii; and Fort Myer, Virginia. He served as editor of the Hawaii Army Weekly while at Schofield Barracks and editor of the Pentagram while at Fort Myer. He also deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004-05. A native of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Rhen has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania.
