U.S. Army Sgt. Olivia Lauer is currently assigned to 196th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in Columbus, Ohio. Since graduating from the Defense Information School's Mass Communications Foundations Course in May 2020, Lauer has contributed videos, photos, and print stories that have been picked up by various news outlets and social media accounts, such as U.S. Transportation Command, Army Times, U.S. Army, U.S. National Guard and Task and Purpose.
In August 2022, Lauer received an Army Achievement Medal for her performance at the National Guard Bureau's largest exercise, Operation Northern Strike, at Camp Grayling, Michigan.
Lauer graduated from the University of Cincinnati in August 2023 with a degree in Communication and a minor in Psychology.
In the upcoming years, Lauer plans to advance her military education in public affairs.
